Father of Mercy

As a father is compassionate to his sons, so has the Lord been compassionate to those who fear him. (Psalm 103:13)

My sons, consider the nations of men, and know that not one of them hoped in the Lord and was confounded. For who has remained in his commandment and been abandoned? Or who has called upon him, and yet he despised him? For God is upright and merciful, and he will forgive sins in the day of tribulation. And he is the Protector to all those who seek him in truth. (Sirach 2:11-13)

As is his mercy, so also is his correction; he judges a man according to his works. The sinner, in his violations, will not escape; but the patience of the One who shows mercy will not be diminished. Every mercy will make a place for each man, according to the merit of his works, and according to the understanding of his sojourn. (Sirach 16:13-15)

How great is the mercy of the Lord, and his forgiveness, for those who convert to him! (Sirach 17:28)

He is merciful, and he teaches and corrects, like a shepherd with his flock. (Sirach 18:13)

Therefore, be merciful, just as your Father is also merciful. (Luke 6:36)

Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. (Matthew 5:7)

For judgment is without mercy toward him who has not shown mercy. But mercy exalts itself above judgment. (James 2:13)
